The 100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance (RPA-100%) is an independent, non-profit trade alliance headquartered in Washington, D.C., that brings together leading 100% recycled paperboard manufacturers to promote the use and labeling of 100% recycled paperboard, and to help consumer products companies analyze the benefits of converting to 100% recycled paperboard packaging. RPA-100% members include Fusion Paperboard, Graphic Packaging International, Norampac, a division of Cascades Canada and RockTenn.
Many well-known brands already trust 100% recycled paperboard for their packaging needs. In fact, 100% recycled paperboard packaging has been in use by consumer packaged goods companies for more than 124 years. There are currently more than 80 companies using the 100% recycled paperboard symbol, including such global companies as FedEx Corporation, The Gillette Company, Kellogg’s, Hewlett-Packard, Procter & Gamble and Reynold’s Consumer Products, a division of Alcoa Consumer Products.
Companies must follow the “Symbol User Specifications” and sign a licensing agreement that confirms the packaging is made of 100% recycled paperboard.
RPA-100% serves as an information resource by helping companies analyze the benefits of converting to 100% recycled paperboard. Additionally, RPA-100% offers companies the opportunity to identify 100% recycled paperboard in packaging through the licensing program. Once companies have converted to 100% recycled paperboard, RPA-100% will promote the conversion to the packaging industry.
