100% Recycled Paperboard is Your Sustainable Packaging Solution

Recycled paperboard is made from 100% recovered paper that has been diverted from the solid waste stream and then collected, separated, cleaned and recycled for use. Caliper for caliper, 100% recycled paperboard is functionally equivalent to virgin paperboard grades, providing similar performance and exceptional value, as well as being good for the environment. It’s an environmentally friendly packaging solution for companies interested in moving their products into green packaging, while still using cardboard box packaging.

Several attributes make 100% recycled paperboard a preferred green packaging option:

  • The versatility of 100% recycled paperboard allows it to be customized for all varieties of folding carton, luxury, and club store packaging applications.
  • Even in a demanding distribution environment, 100% recycled paperboard maintains its strength.
  • Recycled paperboard is consistently clean throughout, has a very high level of profile uniformity, and is produced with state-of-the-art quality processes and controls.
  • The bottom line is cost – 100% recycled paperboard is less expensive on a ton per ton basis.

The three leading reasons that consumer packaged goods companies make the switch from virgin paperboard to 100% recycled paperboard are cost, performance qualities and environmental benefits.

Many well-known brands already trust packaging their products in 100% recycled paperboard, which has been in use by consumer packaged goods companies for more than 100 years.

Today, 100% recycled paperboard is used to package a wide range of goods including dry and frozen foods, household products, ready-to-eat meals, pharmaceuticals, fast food, beverages, electronics products, and more. Currently, the 100% recycled paperboard symbol can be found on thousands of products.

There are now more than 80 coated and uncoated recycled paperboard mills in North America providing 100% recycled paperboard. These mills offer faster response times and flexibility in delivery; range of customizable specifications and products; ability to deliver on an “as needed” basis; and minimized inventory with just in time deliveries assured.
