In October 2010, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) proposed revisions to the Guide that helps marketers avoid making misleading environmental claims. The 100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance (RPA-100%) has provided ongoing input to the FTC during their latest review of these “Green Guides”.

In 2010, the 100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance (RPA-100%) surveyed a variety of U.S. retail store locations to assess the use of recycling symbols on retail packaging. The project was undertaken to:
• Ensure that license agreements are in place with all companies using the trademarked RPA-100% symbol; and
• Complete a census of recycling symbols in use on packaging [...]
